New Zoning Bylaw and QTN

What does the proposed new zoning bylaw mean for QTN?  That is a big question.

There will be major changes in the years ahead as QTN becomes more of an inner urban area and less like a suburban area.  The changes will happen gradually, but specific sites could change quickly after adoption of the new bylaw in 2025.

Below is a photo of the map of QTN showing the new zones for different parts of QTN.  This is not final.  There will be some changes in the draft after the Pinecrest-Queensview and Lincoln Fields Secondary Plans are finished later this fall.  All three will bring change.  All three are coming at once.

For detailed information, check out the interactive map on the City’s Engage Ottawa website.  You can also provide feedback directly to the City on that site.  The deadline for comments on this draft is October 1,2024.  The final draft, including changes after the secondary plans, will be public and go to city council in 2025.  https://ottawa.ca/en/planning-development-and-construction/maps-and-zoning#section-f8387a1b-b832-4328-95bf-203d937858e7

NOTE:  Residents can use the interactive map to find out what zoning will apply to their home or street by hovering over your specific address, and then going to the tables to see what the letters and numbers mean.
